Additional small areas of wear at the top right corners and the top of the spine. Some stains on the back. This is a rare book.

A deep crease in the spine shows the location of a spine break in the glued binding, where about four pages are loose and more could join them in the future.

I have been able to find most of these items offered for sale online, and if you were to buy the cheapest ones out there, you would end up paying $170 or more and still not have them all. This is a package of six booklets about California, all published between 1915 and 1965. Included are the following: California's Historical Monuments published by PG&E in 1965 (48 pp.); Old Mission Tales by Kate P. Sieghold, published in 1915 (20 pp.), including two tickets to Mission San Juan Capistrano (date unknown) and a brochure about the Franciscan Missions along El Camino Real (this is the only booklet showing significant wear to the cover); Trees, Shrubs and Flowers of the Redwood Region by Willis L. Jepson, published in 1950 (16 pp.); Monterey Trails by Lucia Shepardson, published in 1935 (38 pp.); On the Old Calaveras Road by Mary Goodrich, published in 1929 (17 pp.); and California Speaking (A Handbook of California History) by Maria Antonia Field, published in 1934 (19 pp.).

First edition. Very little wear to the dust jacket and almost no wear to the book itself. A very nice, very heavy book on the Californian Impressionist. Discussions on the work of over 70 artists, along with brief biographies of each. Copiously illustrated. Fairly scarce book, gift quality. This book will ship at over four pounds. Very little wear. First American edition, third printing. A novel of slavery and conflict in the West Indies. A narrative told through two voices. Deckle-edged pages are clean and tight.

Trade paperback. The cover shows little wear. The spine is square and uncreased. The pages are clean and tight, with some highlighting and notes only through the first chapter. A rather scarce book.

Little wear. The top right corner of the front cover has been clipped and it looks as if the book was once dropped on that corner, leaving a little crease there on every page. Pages are clean, tight and unmarked and the spine is creaseless.

The Detective Book Club produced volumes of three crime novels from 1942 to 1999. Originally monthly, near the end they dwindled down to just a few per year. Many famous detective and crime novelists had their early works featured in DBC editions. Often, books were published in DBC editions before, or at the same time as they were published in mass market form. First edition. Very little wear. I can't call this a "graphic novel" because it is a true story. The author tells, and illustrates, her own personal battle with cancer, with color and humor. I guess it is a "graphic autobiography", something not many of us could pull off. 212 pages, all clean, unmarked and intact.

The dust jacket shows some discoloration, a bit of edge wear, two tears along the top rear (2 cm, 2.6 cm, both covered with a small piece of tape to preclude further tearing) and a small punch (1 cm) over the spine hinge near the lower right rear corner. Translated from the original Russian by Nicholas Bethell and David Burg. A novel about patients in a cancer ward as an allegory for the Soviet system of government. Trade paperback, this is a scholarly work offering background and criticism. The text of the satire Candide runs the first 80 pages of this 194-page text. Voltaire's satire skewers religion, theologians, governments, armies, philosophies, and philosophers. Edited by Robert M. Adams, this is a stated first edition. The original story was first published in 1759.There are chips and rubs on the cover, creases and fading on the spine and scattered underlining and margin notes on the pages. None of the wear is significant, and the pages remain tight and readable.

Not a lot of wear. The cover, front and back, is freckled with little light spots, possibly from rubbing. These are visible in the photos. There are also a few spine creases from being read. 275 pages, all clean, tight and intact. A cold case comes to light when it is found that a recently deceased dowager's grave is already occupied. Classed as a "cozy" mystery.
