Sewn binding securing pages quite well. No twist or cocking. Darkened text block. Light age-toning to pages, which isn't too bad for a 125 year old book! If there was a tissue guard between frontispiece and title page, it is no longer present. Book is quite readable! 378 pages.

P. F. Volland Company, Unknown. Softcover. Acceptable. Making a guesstimate on date of publication, based on what other booksellers have stated, this is probably from 1925. Per Wikipedia, Elizabeth O. Hiller (circa 1856 – August 14, 1941) was a prominent early twentieth-century American author of cookbooks and a professor of culinary arts. She penned a variety of columns for several different publications, and her series of calendars of recipes was published into the 1930's. This particular publication is bound by string ties, which are now orange in color, worn and frayed at the ends. The pictorial wrappers are faded, soiled, nicked and scraped on edges, with creases to the lower corners. The pages of recipes are age toned. Interesting recipes such as "Stuffed Egg and Tongue Sandwiches," "Kumquat, Marmelade and Cocoanut Sandwiches," and more oddities, and standard old-time favorites. Unpaginated.
