"An authoritative study of bowel conditions and action written for the medical profession at the request of the Deshell Laboratories, Inc." (2). Habit Time encourages the view that patients must make bowel movements at the same time every day to avoid constipation, thus "habit time". The study discusses fecal consistency, medication, mode of life, physiology of the bowel, among other factors. Deshell Laboratories produced and sold Petrolagar, a medication used to induce bowel movements at regular intervals (See advert in The Modern Hospital, Jan 1926 for reference).
