Unknown: M. L. Jackson, 1912. Original postcard from the "Hallowe'en Don'ts" series produced by M. L. Jackson. As the the postcard says: "Don't be afraid for on Hallowe'en if you take a lighted candle and a mirror clean at the stroke of twelve, look in and there's seen the face of your lover that I ween." The postcard is embossed and has the publisher's lion's head logo. Postmarked on Hallowe'en, October 31, 1912 in Iowa; the name of the city begins with "H" but the remainder is obscured. Cambridge, England: Unpublished, 1951. Original handwritten letter from E. M. W. Tillyard to College of William and Mary English Professor Fraser Neiman in response to Neiman's invitation for Tillyard to lecture at W&M.  It is a gracious and chatty letter in which Tillyard lays out his plans for a visit to the U.S. for lectures at Johns Hopkins and expresses his hope that his health will allow him to include W&M on his visit.  As for his health, he provides more than the expected detail about his problem with his appendix.  The letter is on the letterhead of The Master's Lodge, Jesus College, Cambridge (Tillyard was the Master) and is in the original mailing envelope.  Both letter and envelope are in very good condition..
