The Tale of Mr. Jeremy Fisher is the collectable story by Beatrix Potter about a frog who fishes for minnows so he can host a dinner party for his friends. Marked as Copyright 1906, but according to the web, "Publisher's address given as 26 East 22d Street, making this edition no earlier than 1920."
Brown cloth cover boards, silver imprint, cover illustration, illustrated end papers. Good condition overall: very nice cover,very light but widespread staining of pages (see photos). Dust jacket in acceptable condition; previous bookseller penciled comment notes that DJ could possibly be from a later edition.

Rare 1912 FiRST EDITION of Henry W. Shoemaker's most famous collection of the folklore and history of Pennsylvania and the Appalachian Mountains. Interior cover page has label from Shoemaker "With the compliments of the author, H.W. Shoemaker, 26 West 53rd St., New York City." Same page has bookseller label, and facing page has owner inscription dated 1913, with name inked out (see photos).Overall condition is Very Good. Light wear to corners of cover boards and edges. Interior pages and plates are clean and bright."Shoemaker summered in McElhattan, Pennsylvania and wrote that this experience deeply influenced his lifelong devotion to folklore and legend, hunting heritage, and historical and environmental preservation. Familiar with the Roosevelt family in New York, he was a supporter of Theodore Roosevelt's calls for the values of strenuosity,conservation, and Progressivism. Near FINE/MINT condition, museum-quality example of this 1942 play book/set. Never played with, complete, including original publisher's box (in lesser condition; see below). This First edition Treasure Book is in near mint condition with no missing pieces. See photos. Last documented sale of item in this condition was $950.
The net on the cover is intact with no damage of any kind. All the original pieces are there, including the treasure map, net bag of jewels, the invitation, the fish, the flag, the black spot, the apples. All movables work and are in perfect condition.
