AFTER EVEREST - The experiences of a mountaineer and medical missionary, Howard Somervell, 1936 1st edn., Hodder & Stoughton, London, 339 page hardback in original green cloth with gilt titles, extremely scarce original jacket with a some small pieces missing/spine fade but overall bright, archival tape repair - endpaper map of 1924 attempt on north/Tibet side Chomolungma, frontispiece painting by Somervell with glassine protection, B&W plates throughout with fold-out map of Travancore in Sthn India where Somervell was a medical missionary. Lovely biography covering early war years, Everest 1922 and 1924 expeditions, his music & his superb mountain paintings - Very hard to find in this condition with original jacket THE IMAGE SHOWN ON BIBLIO IS THE ACTUAL BOOK BEING PURCHASED
