About This Item

New York: St. Martin's Press, 1998. First edition. Cloth. Fine/Fine. 9.5" by 6.5". None. A very smart first edition, first impression of this adaptation of the first piece that Christie wrote for the stage, Black Coffee. First edition, first impression. Review copy with a letter from the publisher. The first piece that Christie wrote for the stage, which launched a successful second career for her as a playwright. A scientist discovers that someone in his household has stolen the formula for an explosive from his laboratory. He calls Hercule Poirot to investigate, but is murdered just as Poirot arrives. Written by Dame Agatha Christie, an English writer known for her detective novels and short story collections, particularly those revolving around fictional detectives Hercule Poirot and Miss Marple. Adapted into a novel from the original script by Charles Osborne, an Australian journalist, theatre and opera critic, poet and novelist. In the original quarter cloth binding with paper covered boards. Externally, excellent. Original unclipped dust wrapper is also excellent. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean throughout. Fine
