Yellow boards with title stamped in various fonts in black on front. Black cloth spine with title stamped in yellow. A comic classic of modern Irish literature, first published in England in 1939. Though Graham Greene championed the novel (his Pantheon front jacket blurb trumpets "A book in a thousand...in the line of Ulysses and Tristram Shandy." ) , and later book blurbs quote Dylan Thomas' mini-book review: "This is just the book to give your sister if she's a loud, dirty, boozy girl." ) , it was initially not a hot seller. All of the unsold first edition copies were destroyed during World War II bombings. At Swim-Two-Birds appears on Time Magazine's All-Time 100 Novels list, The Modern Library Reader's List of 100 best novels, and The Guardian's list of…

Straight, tight and clean with no wear or markings in bright, pictorial card covers, no dustjacket as issued. The pieces in this collection, written between 1956 and 1961 and including short fiction, a radio play, and a stunning early novel, offer startling insights into Cohens imagination and creative process. Trumansburg, NY: Out of Step Press. Fine with no dust jacket. 2016. Numbered Edition; First Printing. Pamphlet. The author's non-linear poem about the billeting of soldiers in civilian homes in wartime. Copy 89 of a limited edition of 250. Folded into the form of a letter, the work was letterpress printed in wraps of handmade "combat paper" made from military uniforms. The author says: "Some time ago-maybe a year, maybe two?
