About This Item

London: J Murray, 1769. 2nd Edition . Hardcover. Good/No Jacket. 4to - 8" tall. An early reprint of the corrected and enlarged second edition of this classic study of the city of Bath and its history by, arguably, its most important architect. Collated complete, and bound in one volume, this two volume illustrated work has been skilfully rebacked with title label to spine and reference code to base of spine. Ex Public Library copy with discreet purple stamp in 12 places. Strengthening to hinge of plate opposite page 346 and plate opposite page 432 has been repaired in antiquity. Book Plate of previous owner on front pastedown. Occasional mild foxing and some minor creasing to plates. Additional photos available - please ask. This is a nice copy of a title that is scarce in any edition. ESTC citation T164717

The enlarged second edition of this classic study of the city of Bath and its history.
