The first edition of this utopian novel by American author, Edward Bellamy, being the sequel to 'Looking Backward'. First edition.Bound in the publisher's original blue cloth. Written by American author, journalist and political activist, Edward Bellamy, who is best known for his utopian novel 'Looking Backward', of which 'Equality' is the sequel. In this novel, Bellamy further expands the ideas discussed in 'Looking Backward', with the story commencing immediately after the end of the previous novel. The novel is set in a futuristic, utopian society, where clothing, employment and other societal norms are altered. With the stamp of the 'Fantasy Book Centre', Holborn, to the front endpaper. Bound in the publisher's original blue cloth. Externally, very good, with light rubbing to the joints and extremities. Cloth is slightly discolored to the extremities and spine. Ink inscription and stamp to the front endpaper. Internally, generally firmly bound. Title page is detached but present. Pages are bright and clean. Binding is a little strained before the title page, with cords visible. Very Good

Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
