One of two volumes of essays from Myers, entitled Essays, Classical and Modern. A collection of essays on the classical writings, with chapters on: the Greek Oracles, Virgil, and Marcus Aurelius Antoninus. Written by Frederic William Henry Myers, a British poet, classicist, philologist, and the founder of the Society for Psychical Research. Myers was a Fellow of Trinity College from 1865 to 1874 and lectured in classics from 1865 to 1869. Bound by Relfe Brothers, London. Bound in full red crushed morocco. Externally, very smart with minor shelf wear and fading to the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with the odd spot. Light scattered spotting to the first and last few pages. School prize bookplate to the front pastedown. Bound by Relfe Brothers, London. Very Good Indeed
