About This Item
Boston: Roberts Brothers, 1887 . Cloth. Good. 7.5" by 5". None. An early edition of this travel work by the American author Helen Jackson. Early edition of Glimpses of Three Coasts by Helen Jackson in the original publisher's cloth binding. First published in 1886. Helen Hunt Jackson was an American author, poet, and activist from the nineteenth century. She is best remembered for her activism on behalf of the better treatment of Native Americans. Her novel, Ramona, dramatised their mistreatment. In this travel journey, Jackson writes about time spent in California and Oregon, Scotland and England, and Norway, Denmark, and Germany. With two pages of advertisements to the rear. In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart. There is some bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. There is some wear to the cloth to the head and tail of the spine. The front hinge is starting but firm. The title page and first free endpaper are working loose. Internally, generally firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean with some light age toning. Good
