About This Item

John Long Limited, London, 1954. Hardcover. Very Good Condition/Very Good-. Book This is the first printing of the revised text, which is the basis for all of the modern reprints of the book First Printing of the "New and Revised Edition". Size: Around 7" or slightly taller - Duodecimo (12mo). 160 pages. Item Type: Book. Text block is tight, bright and unmarked. Hardcover bound in red cloth over boards with The Toff logo in black in the lower right corner of the front cover and the title in black on the spine. Corners are sharp with no wear to the tips, although the bottom corner of the rear cover has taken a bump. The hinges are tight. The only defect is a 3/8" strip at the foot of the spine that appears to be sun faded. There is some very light foxing on the front free end paper, which also shows up on the front flap of the dust jacket, but the text itself is free of any foxing. The unclipped dust jacket (7s. 6d. net) shows wear along the top edge, but the bottom edge has very little wear. There are 3/8" chips at the top of the front and rear folds, wear at the head of the spine, including a 1/4" tear at the front fold and a 1/4" by 3/8" chip at the head and rear fold, touching the top of the word "Introducing" on the spine. There is also a strong crease across the top 1/4" of the spine. The dust jacket is now protected in a clear archival Brodart sleeve. Quantity Available: 1.
