(USA) Possibly the 2nd printing (1945) This association copy bears the names of "Doris+ Jack Shadbolt" and a signature to the back of the front cover "Shadbolt", no other markings, Very Good; lacking the dustjacket. Jack Shadbolt was a Canadian westcoast painter and Doris Shadbolt, a noted art historian. Brown tweedy cloth, 128pp, 14 colour plates over 100 B&W plates. This is a book on the Flemish massters: Jan van Eyck, Petrus Christus, Roger van der Weyden, Dirk Bouts, Hugo van der Goes, Hans Memling, Gerard David, Jerome Bosch, Peter Bruegel. Van der Elst was was a Belgian diplomat, art collector and writer. He died in 1971. 3.3 JM 0732. Signed. Very Good/Lacking the Jacket.
