Dark geen cloth boards with gilt decoration on cover (gilt panel of river goddess with urn and water plants), gilt lettering on spine. No bumping or fraying. Binding is tight, no cracking; tiny dent at top edge of rear board. Pages and edges are clean, with no names, writing or marks. Five illustrations by Harry C. Edwards, including frontis illustration with clean tissue guard. 179 pages..
