The first edition of this work in the publisher's original cloth binding, with the original unclipped dust wrapper designed by Mervyn Peake. Maurice Edelman (1911-1975) was a British Labour Party politician, journalist, and novelist who represented Coventry constituencies for over 30 years. In this novel, Edelman explores the conflict between the public persona of a young Minister and his true personality, interwoven with political intrigue, ambition and frustration. In the publisher's original cloth binding, with the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, cloth is in excellent condition. Spine is slightly cocked. Internally, firmly bound.
