Icefire by Chris Dlacey

Icefire is a 2003 novel by an English author, Chris d'Lacey. It is the sequel to his 2001 novel The Fire Within, and is followed by Fire Star and The Fire Eternal, which came out in September 2007 (UK) and on the July 1, 2008 (US). The book was shortlisted for an Angus Book Award in 2006.

The adventure that began in "The Fire Within" continues when Davids clay dragon Gadzooks helps him uncover a startling connection between dragons, the Arctic, and a mysterious teardrop of fire.
