An lovely gift book of a classic!

Top Edge gilt. Lower edge uncut. An ownership inscription on half-title page. A very little rubbing to the head and foot of the spine; small patch of discoloration from a scrap of paper used as a bookmark. The dust-jacket is mildly sunned on its spine which has been snipped to remove its price.

The author's real name is Sarah Chauncey Woolsey. Susan Coolidge was a pseudynom and this was her first book. She became well known for the Katy books.
