Oxford: Shakespeare Head Press for Basil Blackwell, 1931. Hardcover. Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. The Shakespeare Head Edition of the Novels of Samuel Richardson. Linen backed, boards covered in burgundy cloth, with leather title pieces mounted on the spines. Light wear. Volume 1 has the beginnings of a reading slant and a few pencil markings in the margins. Volumes 4 and 5 have small faint water stains at the heel. Overall a handsome set. Will require additional shipping charges.

Hersham, Surrey: Classic (Ian Allan Publishing), 2003. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall. Harry Dempsey (Colour Artwork); Paul Leaman (Line Drawings). First edition hardcover in black boards with gilt titling on the spine. Illustrated. Glossary, Bibliography, Index. VG/VG. Bump to head of spine impacted case and damaged dust jacket, but did no harm to the text block within, which is square, firm and clean. Dust jacket has half inch tear by the top front hinge plus some edge wear. No markings.

London: Cassell and Company, Limited, 1903. Hardcover. Very Good. 8vo: 7¾ - 9¾" tall. First published in 1890, this New Edition, with additional chapters and eight full-page b&w illustrations, is from 1903. Hardcover Regimental History in green cloth with titling and colour illustration to front and spine. Index. 8 pages of advertising at the back. VG. Presents nicely. Sound binding, nearly square. Cloth a little bubbled and rubbed. Marked with previous owner's name on multiple pages, front and back. Mildly rubbed and worn. Three particular flaws (see photos): soiled with brownish spots on a two-page spread; small (about 3/4") closed tear to bottom of one early leaf; numeric markings in margins pp. 1-7. Also noted an another, smaller closed tear not pictured here. A handsome copy.

New York: Simon & Schuster, 1992. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Fine/Near Fine. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Wendell Minor (Cover Illustration). A signed, unread seventh printing of David McCullough's massive biography of the "most American of Presidents." Bright blue papered boards with "Truman" stamped to the front cover. Quarter bound in dark blue cloth with silver titling to the spine. Includes more than 90 b&w photos on plates in three sections. Bibliography and Index. Fine. Very minor shelf wear and a bit of waviness to the first leaves. Otherwise square tight and, excepting the autograph, unmarked. The dust jacket has been price clipped. Remains a wonderful, giftable copy. An additional postage charge will likely be needed to ship this thick, heavy book.

New York: Random House, 1939. 1st Edition 1st Printing. Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall. Small quarto hardcover in red and white woven cloth with dark red decoration to front cover and dark red titling to spine. Dust jacket not included. Whimsically illustrated endpapers. Ffep has a small book dealer's sticker to its front and a previous owner's signature to it's blank reverse side. Unpaginated. Illustrated. Adult-orientated material was so tepidly received that the author decided to henceforth concentrate on books for children. Very good or better: only minor wear and soiling.

Washington, D.C.: The American Institute of Architects Press, 1992. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. Folio - over 12 - 15" tall. First published in1992, this copy is a second impression, also from 1992. Hardcover in tan cloth with titling pressed into the spine and the front. Well illustrated with both colour and b&w photos plus drawings, plans, and elevations. Square and firmly bound. Previous owner's name written inside front cover. Minor wear. Dust jacket has edge wear and a small closed tear, but remains complete.

Bangkok: River Books, 2005. Hardcover. Near Fine/No Jacket (as issued). 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Hardcover, about 9 1/2" x 7" (despite larger size indicated on the back cover). In illustrated boards. Place marker ribbon sewn in. Dvd included (but not tested). Many hundreds of colour photos. Notes, Glossary, Bibliography and Index. Minor wear only. Paris: Flammarion, 2003. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. 4to: 9¾ - 12" tall. First English edition, released simultaneously with the French first edition. Hardcover in black boards with blind-stamped titling to the front and spine. Engrossing collection of b&w photographs. Bibliography. Two flaws to consider: back panel of the dust jacket is faded at the top and edges, and the contents page has some rub marks where an eraser has disturbed the sheen. Otherwise the book remains at least Very Good. The binding is square and firm. Mild wear only. No ownership markings.

Milan: Skira, 2011. Hardcover. New/New. 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall. Heavy book likely to require additional shipping charges. Our copy is a new book still in the publisher's shrink wrap. Shrink wrap with some small, inconsequential tears and ragged bits.
