Void Moon by Michael Connelly
Void Moon is the ninth novel by American crime author Michael Connelly. It was released in the UK in 2000 and was Michael Connely's third book which doesn't follow his famous recurring character Harry Bosch. It was also his first (and, as of 2009, only) novel to feature a female protagonist, Cassidy "Cassie" Black, and a protagonist who is a criminal instead of an investigator of criminals.
Cassie Black is lured back to a profession she'd left behind--robbing casino gamblers of their winnings--by a setup that looks too good to pass up, and is soon caught up in a scam that may cost her the one thing she holds dearer than her own life.
