Stevenson's charming illustrations and stories will transport you to Brooklyn's Floyd Bennett Field, New York City's first municipal airport, where Howard Hughes took off on July 10, 1938. You will meet Sadie the Goat--a member of the ladies' auxiliary of the 1870s Hell's Kitchen gang the Gophers--known for butting her victims in the stomach with her head and extracting their valuables. You will discover a popular 1920s Prohibition nightclub equipped with a secret chute that sent bottles of alcohol into the Hudson River (and was later destroyed to build a highway).
