Review summary
This is one of the most readable books on oriental rugs making in Iran and Afghanistan.It is more about the weavers and the merchants than about styles of rugs.Do not buy it if you want to feast your eyes on beautiful rug designs but if you are interested in a rug journey into the past and the future this will delight you.Although I have just finished this book I have begun reading it again-it is that sort of book.

For anyone interested in oriental rugs or Afghanistan and Iran this will inform and delight them.It entertains and informs well about the people,the country and customs,not forgetting the rugs and the making of them.A great delight-I have bought another two copies to give as presents.
