Reader reviews for Bridging Differences: Effective Intergroup Communication

From the publisher

The first and second editions of Bridging Differences have long been favorites with students and their instructors, and the newly revised and classroom-tested third edition is sure to garner even more praise. Restructured as a skills-oriented, comprehensive textbook on intergroup communication, author William B. Gudykunst draws from current research and theory and shows students how to apply this material toward the goal of more effective intergroup communication. New to the third edition is a substantially expanded section on understanding group differences and more material on nonverbal communication. Three new chapters on managing conflict, developing relationships, and building community have also been added. Throughout the book, Gudykunst provides popular self-assessment questionnaires, and he suggests practical applications at the end of each chapter to aid students understanding of intercultural communication. A definitive volume in the field, once again Bridging Differences, Third Edition offers an ideal resource for scholars and students in the fields of intercultural communication, communication, and management.
