xiv+242 pages. Royal octavo (9 1/4" x 6 1/4") bound in original publisher's brown cloth with brown lettering to spine in original pictorial jacket. Inscribed to William Burford. First edition.
Margaret Lohlker Hartley worked at Southern Methodist University for thirty-five years. She was editor of both the SMU Press and Southwest Review from 1961-1981, and senior editor until her retirement in 1982. In 1973 she was appointed adjunt associate professor of English at SMU. She was also coeditor of the Santa Fean magazine early in her career, and later authored a book of poetry, book reviews, and various articles about cultural conflicts in America.
William Burford (1927-2004) was Professor of English at the University of Texas for a number of years, and Professor of English and Director of the Humanities Program at the University of Montana in Missoula. He was a Fulbright Fellow and won numerous prizes for his poetry.
