First edition of The 85th King's Light Infantry (Now 2nd Battn. The King's Shropshire Light Infantry) by 'One of Them', edited by C. R. B. Barrett. In the original publisher's half morocco binding with green cloth boards. Illustrated with forty two plates, eleven of which are in colour, and twelve maps. Collated, complete.This extensive history includes topics such as 'The Royal Volunteers 1759-1763' and 'The Second Peninsular Campaign, 1813-1814'. In the original publisher's half morocco binding and cloth boards. Externally, smart. There is some bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. This has resulted in some wear to he leather on the spine, particularly to the head of the spine where there is a small tear. The hinges are slightly strained. There is some spotting to the fore edge. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean with the occasional spot. Very Good
