The story of an American colonel who pays a visit just after World War II to the site in Italy where he was nearly killed during the First World War. 8vo, 308pp. Black gilt cloth. Scribner's seal and letter "A" on the verso of the title page, date 1950 on front & verso of title page, With the second issue dust jacket, in orange rather than yellow at the spine, price unclipped ($3). Page 21 line 26 corrected to "Papadopoli". The dust jacket slt rubbed at edges, now in protective mylar.
Synopsis
