The two volume first edition of James Justinian Morier's sequel to the 1924 novel 'The Adventures of Hajji Baba of Ispahan'. The first edition of this work, with two volumes bound together. With a title page to each volume, and individual pagination.The sequel to the author's 1824 novel 'The Adventures of Hajji Baba of Ispahan', this work presents a satire of Western Civilisation.Morier was a former British envoy who lived in Qajar Iran in 1808–1809 and 1810–1814, using these experiences to inspire his work.With an armorial bookplate to the front pastedown, and the bookplate of Josceline Grove to the front free endpaper.Along with the previous work, this novel inspired the 1954 film 'The Adventures of Hajji Baba'. In a half calf binding, with marbled paper covered boards. Fading to back strip, with minor losses of leather to spine label perimeters. Bookplates to front pastedown and front free endpaper. Handling marks to front pastedown and front free endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and generally clean, with the odd spot. Light spotting to volume I title page. Very Good Indeed
