Hartford: The American Publishing Company, 1876. First Edition, First Printing. Hardcover. Octavo, [I]-XVI, [17]-[275] pages. In Fair condition. Rebound in green cloth with gilt lettering on spine. Boards show mild edge wear and shelf wear. Text block has been closely trimmed to text and has mild to moderate foxing to pages, tearing and tape to fore edge of pages 33/34, non archival tape repairs on pages 77 and 97, and staining to title page. During the rebinding the frontispiece has be lost. Before the title page there is an ad leaf, or a page with an ad pasted on, but most of the ad has been removed except for the top tine that reads "How well do you know your America?..." BAL 3369. Shelved in Room A. 1372607. Special Collections.
Synopsis
The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, by Mark Twain, is a popular 1876 novel about a young boy growing up in the antebellum South on the Mississippi River in the town of St. Petersberg, based on the town of Hannibal, Missouri.
