London: T Cadell and W Davies , 1800. First edition. Leather. Very Good. 8.5" by 5.5". Not Stated. A critical and informative work on sculpture, architecture and painting in England, mostly Oxford. With an engraved title page. The first octavo edition of this work. Written by the English antiquary and topographer, James Dallaway. Split into sections for 'Architecture', 'Sculpture' and 'Painting', this work describes numerous. With the bookplate of Worcester Library to the front pastedown. In a half calf binding with paper covered boards. Externally, generally smart with rubbing to the extremities and paper covered boards. Light rubbing to the spine. Evidence of repair to the spine label, which has a few small chips. Bookplate to the front pastedown of Worcester Library. Shelf inscription to the recto of front endpaper, 'D 49.' Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright with scattered spotting to the first and last few pages. Just the odd spot to pages. Very Good

Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
