First edition of The Apple Cart: A Political Extravaganza by Bernard Shaw in the original publisher's cloth binding and unclipped dust wrapper. A satirical comedy about political philosophies which are represented by the characters. It was unexpectedly popular and widely considered conservative, anti-democratic and monarchist, appealing to contemporary audiences. George Bernard Shaw was an Irish playwright and political activist and had a large influence on Western theatre and culture. Prior owner's book plate to the first pastedown. In the original publisher's cloth binding and unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, smart. There is some wear to the dust wrapper, including some tears and creases to the extremities and age toning. There is some loss to the tail of the spine. The dust wrapper has been repaired to the spine. To the binding, there is some minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Prior owner's book plate to the first pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean with the occasional spot and light age toning. Very Good
