About This Item

New York: Arcade Publishing, 1990. A gorgeous HARDCOVER first printing of a beautiful book. Brand New in a Brand New dust jacket. PERFECT CONDITION. NO chips. NO tears. NO creases. NO rubbing. NO fading. NOT price clipped ($45.00/$40.00 before 12/31/90 ). Bright, shiny, clean, square and tight. Sharp corners. NOT a library discard. NO owner's name or bookplate. NOT a remainder. Fresh and crisp -- obviously never read. 1990 First printing with "First U.S. Edition" so stated, and complete number row (10 987654321) on the copyright page. Over 250 illustrations, 146 in brilliant full color. This is the definitive biography of Arthur Rackham based on and including previously unpublished documentary and pictorial evidence. Rackham's techniques are traced, as are his personal and artistic development. Included are appendices on his earnings, family tree, locations of public collections, etc. Most of the plates are newly color separated from originals in private and public collections. Advances in color printing technology have allowed reproduction with greater fidelity to Rackham's original artwork than possible in his lifetime. Unless you have access to the originals, these illustrations offer the truest and most faithful look at Rackham's art. For book collectors there is a useful bibliography that lists the first edition of all books with Rackham illustrations including details on the date, publisher, correct number of color and B&W plates in each book, etc. Bound in the original gilt-stamped maroon boards. Complete with a pristine dust jacket. Oversize Hardcover. 9.25" wide by 12.25" tall. This large, heavy book will require extra postage for Priority and International shipments, but only the standard charge for media mail.. First printing of the First U. S. Editio. Oversize Hardcover. New/New. Illus. by Rackham, Arthur. 199pp. Great Packaging, Fast Shipping.

About About Books

About Books (Genny and Michael Winne, proprietors, formerly of Parsippany, New Jersey) has been selling rare and OP books since 1985. Besides book fairs and mail-order catalogues, long-time collectors and dealers will remember our lengthy For Sale ads in the Antiquarian Bookman and similar magazines.
