A scarce presentation copy of this children's book, signed by the author and from the library of Tom Maschler. A beautiful and near fine first edition copy of this uncommon children's book by Jane Johnson. In the original publisher's paper covered boards. With lovely and colourful illustrations throughout. A presentation copy, signed and inscribed by the author to the title page. Presented to Tom Maschler, with his book plate to the first pastedown. From the library of Tom Maschler, a noted publisher who headed Jonathan Cape for over three decades. He was also a one of the key figures in the creation of the Booker Prize in 1969. In the original publisher's paper covered boards. Externally, excellent. There are some faint marks to the boards and old price sticker to the rear board. Prior owner's book plate to the first pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are very bright and clean.
