Bliss is the first novel by Australian writer Peter Carey, a darkly comic tale concerning Hell and the afterlife. It won the 1981 Miles Franklin Award. Peter Carey is one of only five writers to have won the Booker Prize twice, for Oscar and Lucinda (1988) and True History of the Kelly Gang (2001). In publisher's original cloth binding, with original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, cloth is in excellent condition, with just a tiny bit of wear to the gilt title. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean. Dust wrapper is in lovely bright condition, with minimal edgewear to the extremities and faint marks to both sides of the wrap. Fine
