A remarkable account of the Officers Training Corps, covering its conception and its work during the first year of the First World War and anticipating its future.Written by Alan Haig-Brown, a British Army officer and footballer. He served as commander of the Lancing Officer's Training Corps and was killed by machine-gun fire on the first day of the German spring offensive in 1918.Illustrated with ten plates, including a frontispiece piece portrait of Major Meiklejohn, V.C.A scarce copy of this work, which is a first edition. In the publisher's original full cloth binding. Externally generally smart; a little bumped to the head and tail of the spine, which is a little faded. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Very Good

Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
