Originally published in "Mademoiselle" magazine in 1956 & then in a slipcased edition (see our other listing!), this the first appearance in book form with the delightful illustrations of Beth Peck (First, Thus, Second Printing per number line). Large hardcover 4to as pale green cloth-wrapped spine over manila paper-covered boards & is in Near Fine condition: completely clean & unmarked inside, but with a dark or yellowed spot of unknown origin to outer top of fore edge side of front board. Else, pages white, colors bright, binding strong & straight. the price-clipped DJ is only Good, downgraded due to torn area with missing sliver of paper & yellowing along that same upper-outer edge of front cover, taped on back.
