Columbia: University of South Carolina Press, 1951. Octavo (9.25" x 6.5"), xxii & 209 pages, with Thomas Kitchin's map of the Carolinas and Georgia (from the 1765 original). Publisher's maroon cloth lettered & decorated in silver.
Spine a bit faded, upper cover slightly spotted & sunned, binding started in a couple of places (still secure), "Winston Lane" in ink at ffep, minor internal toning, otherwise good or better.
The first title in the South Caroliniana Sesquicentennial Series. Provides facsimiles of Governor James Glen's Description of South Carolina; Containing, Many Curious and Interesting Particulars relating to the Civil, Natural, and Commercial History of that Colony (originally published in London, 1761) and George Milligen's Short Description of the Province of South-Carolina; with an Account of the Situation, Air, Weather, and Diseases of Charlestown (originally published London, 1770).
