A smart, scare world atlas from Bacon, with one hundred coloured maps and references to the latest discoveries of the time. Scarce atlas. Dated from the latest census data in text. With one hundred double page maps, and one single page map, with diagrams and flag illustrations in colour. Collated complete. This world atlas includes the latest discoveries of the time, extensive descriptions and diagrams of places and towns. With an alphabetical index and gazetteer of two thousand towns. Edited by George Washington Bacon, an American publisher and cartographer known for his production of maps of London. Rebacked with half morocco and cloth boards. Externally, smart with light shelf wear and rubbing to the extremities. Light fading to the spine and cracks to the leather of the spine. Marks to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with the odd handling mark. Minor tide marks to the front endpaper and light spotting to the first and last few pages. Contemporary ink inscription to the front endpaper dated 1957. Contemporary ink inscription to the title page. Good

Where are We?
Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
