In the original publisher's cloth with the original unclipped dust wrapper. Illustrated with illuminated letters, headpieces and tailpieces, numerous monochrome vignettes and 6 plates. Collated complete. This work was written by English artist and book illustrator Walter Crane. Crane is considered to be one of the most prolific and influential book illustrators of his generation. The work originated from a lecture given by the author at the Society of Arts in 1889, with the work having additional chapters and illustrations added during it's creation. In the publisher's original cloth with the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally lovely. The odd minor spot to the end papers. The wrap is also lovely. Internally firmly bound with clean and very lightly age toned pages. Fine
