The January (Januar), 1936 issue of Die Hausfrau, "Monatsschrift fur die Frauenwelt Amerikas" (roughly, Monthly Review for the American Woman"). Text in German. Tall quarto, almost folio, illustrated stapled wraps (in this case with a comely young fraulein on the cover, a remarkably appealing illustration), 58 pp. Very Good plus, not far from Near Fine; light scratch at front cover, almost not edgewear and only just very modest toning to the supple interior pages. See scans. Very High Grade example. Not often found in this grade. Published for German-Americans in the mid-20th century, but you don't have to be able to read German to appreciate the covers, the interior color plates in some issues - including, here, a removable, laid in, beautifully-scenic calendar for the year (see scan) - the craft pages, and sometimes geographically whimsical articles, and the excruciatingly home-y black and white photos in Die Hausfrau. This will take ya back. Well, depending on how old you are...Americana, in German. Fetching cover illustration (scan) is the equal of those on English language magazines of the era that bring much higher prices. Collector's condition. Please see all scans. Lpr4
