About This Item

London: C. Arthur Pearson, c1900. Paperback. Good. 8.5" by 5.5". None. A scarce sixpenny novel edition of this exciting work by Edna Lyall, or Ada Ellen Bayly. Early sixpenny novel edition. Scarce work. Following Doreen, an Irish singer whose father has been imprisoned due to his nationalist sympathies. Will her love for a young Englishman survive through the political turmoil? Written by Edna Lyall, the pen name of Ada Ellen Bayly, an English novelist who supported the women's suffrage movement from an early age. In the original pictorial paper wraps. Externally, sound with chipping to the extremities and the odd mark to the board. Loss to the head and tail of the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with the odd handling mark. Good
