New York: D. Appleton and Company, 1897 First edition. HB. Half brown morocco leather over brown suede boards, lettered in gilt to spine and to front, with gilt and brown printed whip motif. Gilt top page edges. v, 158pp, followed by many of the plate pages. Large quarto format. With 124 b&w photos in plates, showing carriages and horse-drawn vehicles of many types, horses and drivers, stables and harness and equipment. Detailed text. Very Good. Pages clean, light foxing & a few marks to prelims with some edge wear to endpapers. Covers have rubbing to edges, and a few small marks, with a smallwater stain to top near edge (on cover only). Covers in clear stiff wrapper. Pictures available.
