A first edition, morocco rebound copy of this work. The English Farmhouse and Cottage attempts to describe the houses of the majority of the rural population of England, particularly in the sixteenth to eighteenth centuries. The book explores the legacy of the Middle Ages and the housing revolution from the middle of the fifteenth century. With twenty four plates. Collated, complete. Re-bound in half morocco with cloth covered boards. Externally, lovely with some light marks to the boards. With a bookplate for Michael Matantos to the front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound with bright and clean pages. Near Fine
