About This Item

This is an early copy of "FLOATING ISLAND" by Anne Parrish. 1930 3rd edition (stated); Harper & Brothers; New York. The book is beautifully illustrated throughout with 12 full-page plates by Parrish, a 2-page color map of Floating Island, and in-text "sketches" by Mr. Doll. Illustrated end papers. The book tells the story of a China-doll family's shipwreck and their ensuing adventures on the Floating Island. It won the Newbery Medal in 1931.

Condition:
Some very light soiling on the covers and spine; sharp corners. Tight binding with no cracks and no loose pages. The pages are in terrific condition - clean with only a tiny, light stain spot on pages 98 and 99...no other issues found. Overall the book is in great shape.
