Tübingen: C. F. Osiander, 1828. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Poor. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, original 1828 publication with original binding. The exterior is effectively destroyed as it was completely covered with tape. The front board is detached and is only hanging on by half the title page in the spine is deteriorated at the bottom and only hinged on the right side. This appears to be the first printing of this important work with the only known copies being in assorted universities. With the exception of the small tear on the title page, the remaining text pages are well secure. The paper is toned and foxing is present throughout. There are a few scattered pencil notes on the text pages, but this appears to be limited to the introduction on the first dozen pages. Both pastedowns have signatures and there is some penciled notes on one of the blank end pages in the rear, as well as a bookplate and some signatures (in pen). This is a very good candidate for rebinding since the exterior is unusable but the interior pages, except for the first and last blank end pages, are very usable. The exterior binding is very brittle and must be handled with great care, but the binding of the text pages is in very good condition.

Purchases will ship by US Media Mail or Priority Mail (if buyer selects) and higher priced items may have insured placed on the order and will typically ship within one business day. Additional postage may be required for multiple volume books or books weighing over 5 lbs., but only in unusual cases. Insurance is available upon request though we normally place insurance on any item of $75 or higher at no additional cost to the buyer. Non-US sales will ship by First Class International or Global Priority. Additional postage may be required for multiple volume books or books weighing over 4 lbs.
We always take extra care in packaging and shipping. Books are typically wrapped in packing paper or bubblewrap before packaged in a sturdt shipping box. All orders, even those shipped by US Media Mail, will be given a USPS tracking number which will be sent to the buyer so they will know when to expect arrival. Please let us know if there is a book with incorrect or missing photos. We recently moved the inventory to Biblio and a title or two may have had issues with the photos being transferred over.
Yesterday's Book shop is owned and operated by a disabled veteran. Due to my limitations, I often have to rely on speech-to-text software to list the books. If the description has typos ("and pages" instead of "end pages", pace downs instead of pastedowns, guilt instead of gilt, etc,) PLEASE let me know so I can correct the listing. The software spells words by phonetics and can make errors that I may not catch.

Yesterday's Book Shop is an independent, family-owned establishment. The store first opened in 1966 under the name Collector's Corner and was located in Western Maryland. The Collector's Corner dealt mainly in books but also sold stamps and assorted ephemera. In 1975 the name was changed to Yesterday's Book Shop when the store only offered books and printed matter. In the early 2000s the brick and mortar store was closed and now we only sell online.
