About This Item

Summerland BC: Canada West Magazine & N. L. Barlee, 1970. First Edition. Soft cover. Collectible Fine. 1st printing. 4to pictorial wraps. 183pp. Attractively illustrated with vintage photos and the excellent drawings and remarkable hand-drawn maps of the author. Barlee was publisher and author of the much sought Canada West Magazine, a schoolteacher, and later MP of his riding in BC. He produced a TV series on BC ghost towns and mining camps for CBC. I believe Barlee traveled to all the places he wrote about and researched them professionally. Your bookseller corresponded with Barlee around this time. This is THE book to have on the ghost towns and creeks of southern BC in the Okanagan and Kootenay county. Fine copy. Scarce now in first printing.
