About This Item

Paris: Claude Barbin. Fair with no dust jacket. 1680. Hardcover. 1680. 10 lvs + 330 pp + 10 lvs Tables des Matieres. Suivant la Copie, imprimee. In French. 3.25" x 5.75" Title page colophon of Chez Barbin, handsome decorative initials and head & tail pieces in the preface and first page of the history. The story behind the negotiations to end Louis XIV of France's "Dutch War" (1672-1678) during the Treaties of Njimegen (1678-1679), known in French as Nimegue and obviously published immediately after the Treaties were successfully concluded. Quite scarce. Paper boards are covered in marbled paper which is worn and rubbed, all corners rubbed, spine covering chipped away at tips. No end papers, some old notations to inside fc, small stains and owner's inscription on title, binding holding but sewing showing. This copy was obviously read quite a bit, but it is clean and all present.; 16mo - over 5¾" - 6¾" tall .
