About This Item
London : J. M. Dent and Co., 1907. First edition. Cloth. Very Good. 10.5" by 8". A. R. Quinton. A smart first edition of this historical guide to the river Thames, charmingly illustrated in colour by A. R. Quinton. The first edition of the work. Hilaire Belloc was a Franco-English author, perhaps best known for his 'Cautionary Tales for Children'. Illustrated by A. R. Quinton, a renowned watercolour artist, known for his paintings of British villages and landscapes. In the original pictorial green cloth binding. Externally smart with slight rubbing to the boards and extremities. Slight bumping to the extremities. The odd mark to the boards. Internally firmly bound. Pages generally bright and clean with scattered spotting, slightly heavier to the first and last few pages. Pages roughly cut. Very Good
