Illustrated with one hundred and eighty-six illustrations, including a colour frontispiece, and thirteen maps, one of which is folding. Collated complete. A detailed history of Egypt, with chapters on the land, early religion, pyramid builders, dynasties, the rise of Thebes, the new state, the empire, the wars of Ramses II, the fall of the empire, the restoration, and much more. Written by James Henry Breasted, an American archaeologist, Egyptologist, and historian. In the original blue cloth binding. Externally, smart with light shelf wear and rubbing to the extremities. Fading to the spine and the odd small mark to the boards. Small splits in the cloth to the head and tail of the spine. Front hinge has been sympathetically reinforced with brown paper tape, rear hinge starting but firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with the odd handling mark. Good
