Henri d'Auvergne, more commonly known as Turenne, was a famous 17th-century French Marshal General known for being one of the greatest military leaders in French history. He led successful campaigns in the Dutch Warr, against the Spanish Netherlands, and wars in Flanders. All of these campaigns, as well as his political influence are covered in detail in Andrew Ramsay's "History of Henri de la Tour d'Auvergne". This book is considered one of the best histories of Turenne.
