About This Item
Paris: E. Dentu, 1886. Leather. Very Good. 7.5" by 5". Not Stated. An early edition of this novel following the ambitions of Father Capdepont, by the French writer Ferdinand Fabre. The fourth edition of this work in a quarter morocco binding. Ferdinand Fabre (1827-1898) was a French novelist. His work often depicted the life of the peasants and clergy of his native region. This work focuses on the ambitious Father Capdepont (known as Tigrane), living in a small town at the foot of the Pyrenees, who aims to work his way up into the papacy. In a quarter morocco binding. Externally fairly smart, with shelf wear to the extremities and a little fading to the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean, except for the odd spot to the first and last couple of pages. Very Good
